"An imaginative effort on behalf of singer/songwriter B.jamelle (prod./arranged by Diggs Duke) to translate the bittersweet, healing attributes of “Rose Tea” into an aural experience as blissful as enjoying the last sip of a perfect cup."
lyrics
I peek out my window to make sure the world is still there
Rub the dusk out my pupils, shake all the stars out my hair
Dust the night from my palms and watch the minutes fall everywhere
Check for life in the mirror, 'cause at times I'm sore unaware
I'm so unaware
chorus
I rush out into blue cold while the sun thumbs through clouds and just stares
Why scrutinize me with fool's gold?
Is there no warmth for me , anywhere?
Oh I can't wait to get home...floor walls and ceiling are ever fair
I'll bleed roses in tea bowls, until I'm gone and it's cool to care
I'll have plenty there

The Berkeley drummer and composer navigates paranoia through intricately layered experimental jazz songs, sweetened by a touch of soul. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 9, 2021

Smooth, soulful and tasty. Something about James' style has appealed to so many fans. Perhaps it's the sincerity in his singing and the message of hope and love. There is an old school vibe to it too, that gives one a sense of sitting home relaxing with a glass of wine and a significant other. Very romantic. Rob O.
